Analysis of Hydroelectricity Generation Efficiency by Vertical Axis Turbine at Takhian Luean Sub-district,

Abstract
This study aimed to design, invent, and test the efficiency of hydroelectricity generation in the Takhian Luean sub-district, which is located alongside the Chao Phraya River in Nakhon Sawan province. Three sizes for vertical axis turbines with a radius of 20, 30 and 40 cm were used for electric power generation. On electric power generation using a turbine with a radius of 20 cm the results showed that the average speed of the turbine was 50.70 rpm and 47.54 W turbine input power provided 27.77 W of electric power representing as an average efficiency of electricity generation of 59%. For electricity generation using a turbine with a radius of 30 cm, the average speed of the turbine was 41.59 rpm and 89.17 W turbine input power produced 25.52 W of electric power calculated as an average efficiency of electricity generation of 29%. Finally, electric power generation using a turbine with a radius of 40 cm, the average speed of the turbine was 37.55 rpm and 140.56 W turbine input power generated 23.07 W of electric power, which was 16% efficiency of electricity generation.
