An Experimental Design and Development Inventions of A Cup Design Made from Water Hyacinths
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research studied an experimental design and development inventions of a cup design made from water hyacinths to reduce the use of foam and difficult degradation materials. The objective of this study was to investigate the composition of water hyacinths and the forming water hyacinth machine. According to a survey of natural materials, water hyacinths were naturally growing and available material. Researchers used water hyacinths to process them into food cup containers by using a heat and suitable temperature for forming the container with the cup printing machine. The experiment was divided into 2 types: water hyacinth used 2 and 3 leaves overlap heated to 150 ° C for 10, 12 and 15 minutes and 200 ° C for 3, 5 and 7 minutes. The result of the data was from questionnaires about cup container forming by 120 participants and expert nutrition 5 participants. According to the questionnaires, using 3 water hyacinths on top of the others and apply 20 grams of cassava starch and use the temperature of 200 ° C for 5 minutes moiture test was 4.72 %. Therefore, the average satisfaction score of the cup design was 3.46. It can be indicated that the experiment and the cup design were very satisfied with an excellent level.
