Stoichiometric Determination of Vanadium (IV) with 1-Hydroxy-2-Pyridinone-6-carboxylic Acid in Acetic Acid Solution
Main Article Content
Abstract
Ratio of coordination compound between oxovanadium(IV) and 1-hydroxy-2-pyridinone-6-caboxylic acid (1,2-HOPO-6-carboxylic) in 0.5 M acetic acid was determined by spectrophotometry. It was found that 1,2-HOPO-6-carboxy ligand coordinated with VO(IV) ion by using hydroxamate and carboxylate groups. Continuous variation, mole ratio and slope ratio methods were used for determination of ratio of compound. Experimental results showed that the ratio of metal ion and ligand in compound was 1:2.
