The Development of Flat Plate Solar Hot Water System Combined with Induction Water Heating System : SIWH
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research was to investigate development of solar hot water system with a flat plate solar collector combined with induction water heating system (SIWH). Study energy saving and economic analysis. The results were as follows. 1) The design and construct of SIWH system, it was found that the solar collector area 1.5 square meter. The hot water pipe was made of copper pip. surface of solar collector was matte black painted, it was covered with heat reflective plate and insulation. The top was covered with a polycarbonate sheet. The solar collector was incline making an angle 15 degrees with the horizontal, South facing. The hot water tank is 200 liters, it was covered with heat reflective sheet and insulation. The water circulation it was used d.c 12 V pump. The induction water heating system will used the induction cooker was electromagnetic induction field. The hot water pot of this system was made of stainless steel. 2) The study energy saving of SIWH system, it was found that the electricity consumption 1.39 kilowatt-hour and took time in hot water producing about 2.40 hour. When compared to the induction water heating system (IWH). It could reduced electricity consumption was 2.17 kilowatt-hour, and reduced the time of hot water production was 50 minute. For economic analysis, it was found that the system has a payback period was 5.9 years and cost saving was 2,387 baht/year.
