The Production of Process Color of Offset Printing Ink Using Recycled Vegetable Oil
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to produce offset printing ink from used vegetable oil and to test its property. The result of this study were able to contribute the understanding of the importance of partially replacing the offset printing ink with the used vegetable oil to users. Moreover, it also contributed to the reduction of environmental problems as well as health problems of workers. The results demonstrated that the processed color of the offset printing ink which consists of 4 colors including cyan, magenta, yellow and black exploited recycled palm oil mixed with resin in order to produce the vanish. According to the result, the 65% of recycled palm oil was a suitable proportion for producing the vanish. Then, the vanish was combined with other materials in producing for all colors of offset printing ink using recycled palm oil. Moreover, the color difference and the physical property of four processed colors of offset printing ink were tested by compare with the commercial ink. The test result showed approximate values of their color difference and the physical property
