Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this study was to create a flood map in Sri Don Chai sub-district, Thoeng district, Chiang Rai province. There are 4 levels of flooding, including high, moderate, low and no impact, following causes of flooding. The people used in this study was people affected by flooding. The results indicated that floods impact 1,238 households. Although, the overall flood situation was moderate flooding along Meuang and Loy river banks, however 2 villages in this study was affected by severe flooding. As a result of field survey and questionnaire, people need reservoirs and flood ways which reservoir 1 and 2 can dredge and improve river bank flood barrier for increasing water catchment areas. Reservoir 3 needs to be planted rice, which used water resources from reservoir 1 and 2, before the rice-planting season. The paddy fields will change to water catchment areas when the rice-planting season starts in the rainy season.
