Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the cultivation of straw mushrooms in the controlled house to achieve optimal conditions for straw mushrooms, and the use of renewable energy from solar to reduce production costs. The control conditions are temperature, relative humidity, and carbon dioxide content of 29 - 32 °C, 85-95%, and <2,000 ppm respectively. The control system consists of an ESP32 microcontroller in conjunction with the BME280 temperature and relative humidity sensor. CO2 Monitoring Device MG811 Water Temperature Monitoring Device DS18b20 Electric Power Meter PZEM-017 and Si-V-1.5 TC solar sensing equipment. The solar panel consists of a 2.5 m2 hot water panel with a 200-l water tank to produce hot water, and two 385 W solar panels working with a 12 V 200 Ah battery to generate electricity. The results showed that controlled houses can conditionally control the environment inside the greenhouse throughout the seeding period. The average yield was 58.70 kg/crop, the energy consumption rate was 0.65 kWh/kg. The control house had an electrification of 494.13 kWh/y. Solar power generation systems can produce 16.63 MJ/d of thermal energy at a maximum water temperature of 62.39 °C and produce 1,102.82 kWh/y of electricity, which is sufficient to meet demand. According to the analysis of energy costs per unit, the system was able to reduce production costs by 5,013.57 Baht/y and considering the whole system, the payback period was 3.01 y.
