A Development and strengthening of Information Technology Capabilities for Staffs at Pakse Teacher Training College, Lao PDR

Abstract
The purposes of this study were 1) to study the need of enhancement the Information Technology (IT) capacities for staffs at Pakse Teacher Training College (PTTC). 2) to enhance the IT capabilities in design and development of PTTC computer network. 3) to enhance the IT capabilities for applying the IT in the academic and research. The samples were 42 staffs of PTTC, Lao PDR. The research instruments were a questionnaire of the development and strengthening of IT Capabilities at PTTC and a questionnaire of the opinion about the development and strengthening of IT Capabilities at PTTC. The statistics were analyzed by using mean () and standard deviation (S.D.). The results of the study found as follows: 1) The need for enhancement the IT capabilities at PTTC was at a high level of demand (
= 3.85 S.D. = 1.20) 2) the enhancement of ability in computer network design and development at PTTC found that most sample have opinion that correspond to their abilities in designing and developing computer network at a high level (
= 2.50, S.D. = 0.54), and 3) the enhancement of ability to apply IT in academic and research, it was found that most sample have opinions that correspond to their abilities in the IT applying for academic and research at a high level (
= 2.80, S.D. = 0.37).
