EFFECT ANALYSIS IN ATTACH VELVET POWDER PROCESS

The objective of this research was to analyse and search for the factors effecting the working time and wastes in attaching velvet powder process of a velvet box plant. It was found that the wastes of the black velvet powder consumed much working time. Before improvement, the black velvet powder spent average time of 83.499 seconds and had 34.28 %wastes. From the analysis on Cause & Effect Diagram and from using the technique of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) for the analysis, it was found that the causes came from large black velvet powder attached on plastic box and this caused wastes and the black velvet powder consumed much time. Consequently, the researcher tried to search for the real causes and found that they were 1. Chemical solutions used in separating velvet powder. 2. The changing of velvet powder manufacturing formula from supplier side. 3. Velvet sieve. The researcher then analyzed and improved such causes. And after the improvement, the time for working has been reduced to 63.687 seconds while the wastes were zero%. That means 19.812 seconds were reduced and 100% wastes could be reduced.
