DESIGN OF A PUMPING SYSTEM FOR IRRIGATION OF BANKOK MUNICIPALITY, KHON KAEN PROVINCE

This article presents a design procedure of pump and piping system of a pumping station for irrigation. It was an application of engineering knowledge parallel with people participation, which aimed to be a guide in designing of pumping systems for agriculture. The design activities were including, site surveying, mapping of the land ownership plots, calculation of the crop water requirement, irrigation water demand and water duty, design layout and the size of pipeline, head losses and total dynamic head computation, design the size and select the type of pump, and design the project components. Besides, 3 public hearing meetings with the stakeholders were also organized. The outputs were a complete set of the project blueprint which would be used in the construction, tender documents and the pumping station management manual.
