Design and Fabrication of Paddy Sowing Machine in the Nursery-Tray using Solar Energy System
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were 1) to design and fabricate the paddy sowing machine in the nursery tray and 2) to determine the test of the paddy sowing machine with a solar system. In the design and the fabrication of the structure is made of steel. The power source is an electric motor of 250 watts. The main components are seeding tray conveyer, soil hopper, rice hopper, paddy drop shaft, transmission system and solar power system installation, which comprises the solar panel, the charge controller, and the battery. The results of the test were as follows: 1) The sprinkling paddy seeds per hole, the distance was 0.8 cm. There was an average of 3.53 seeds per well standard deviation 2.35. 2) The speed of soil sprinkling and the paddy seed sprinkling had an average of 10 seconds per tray. 3) The amount of the soil pouring half of the hole was 8.53 mm. per hole. The test of filling the hole was 8.52 mm. The soil was 100 percent in the hole. 4) The loss of seed tested at a weight of 5 kilograms with an average loss of 0.22 kilograms. The seed germination test after planting in trays shown that the seedlings germinated more than 97%. The solar system can generate electricity equal to 67.5 units per month. It can save 319 baths per month on electricity costs for planting seedlings. The results of the research helped paddy sowing machine using solar energy to reduce the labor and the time on planting seedlings for reduce seed loss and promoting the use of renewable energy.
