Abstract

This paper aims presents the development of a cable winder. The problem encountered by the company. The cable maker needs to produce a large reel of wires before removing them from the machine, causing the reels of electrical cable and cables to be divided into large diameters with wires. The cable is on the reels makes difficult for users, resulting in high moving costs. Operator want to split from large reels to smaller. The required length and size before being used in the field of operation. The traditional process of dividing cable requires 3 workers and 1 forklift to control the work. The efficiency is not consistent, such as the length of the cable being incorrect from the specified size. The cable is twisted and not attached to the reel. The company wanted to reduce worker to just one person and needed a machine that could automatically cable winding machine. The researcher is attachment based on the system design principles and calculations. The machine components consisting of cable reel lifters, cable length meter tensioner and cable alignment system. Automatic cable shredders can accommodate standard size reels with reel widths from 400 to 1000 millimeters. Install a reel with a core hole diameter from 70 mm. to 100 mm. Able to wind a 6 mm² cable. Install reels with core holes from 70 mm to 100 mm in diameter, 6 mm² cables at a maximum speed of approximately 140 rev/min, 25 mm² cables at a maximum speed of approximately 50 rev/min. The machine has a mechanism to lift the cable reel. It can stop for working automatically when the wires have been divided to the desired distance and can be operated by one person.
