A Comparison of Learning Achievement on Linear Inequalities in One Variable Grade Nine Students by Learning between Skills Exercises Based on Constructivist Theory and Traditional Teaching Method
The research aimed to develop the mathematics package on one variable linear in equalities along with the constructive method to achievement the effectiveness of 80/80; to compare the learning achievement of the students who were taught by a constructivist method and by a conventional method. The samples used in the present study were 28 grade nine students from Ban Yang School and 28 students from Ban Kang School. They were derived by means of a cluster random sampling. The research instruments were 1) on one variable linear Inequalities for grade nine students for a conventional method; 2) mathematics skill package on one variable linear Inequalities 3) achievement test. Single variable linear inequalities. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, variance test and t-test. The research findings were as follows. The mathematics package on one variable linear Inequalities for grade nine students had an efficiency equivalent to 83.68/84.29. It was in line with the set criterion. Its effectiveness index was equivalent to .7665 or 76.65%.The students who learned by using the package had a higher learning achievement than their counterparts who learned by a conventional method at the statistical level of .01 significance.
