Publication Ethics

Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna Engineering Journal (RMUTL. Eng. J.) is an academic journal published in January 2016 with the objective of disseminating research results and knowledge in the field of engineering and technology. Both academic and research works are published for students, personnel within and outside the university. Therefore, in order to ensure that the published articles conforms to international standards. Guidelines for good practices and ethics in publishing research results have been established for the operation of the journal as follows:

The editor and editorial team of the journal have the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Check the preliminary content of the article before sending it to qualified experts to evaluate the article.
  2. Consider the quality of the article together with experts to evaluate the article and the editorial team before publication.
  3. Check for plagiarism of the content of the article according to international principles.
  4. Accept or reject articles for publication according to the journal's criteria without using personal relationships or using personal feelings to consider the article or bias towards the author or the author's organization.
  5. Give authors the freedom to write their articles and maintain the integrity of their work according to academic standards.
  6. Maintain the confidentiality of personal information of those who are involved with the journal and review articles using the double blind peer review method.
  7. Maintain standards and develop journals to have quality as determined by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center.
  8. The execution and monitoring of the journal's article review process are carried out in an objective and honest manner.

The author has the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Research or academic articles must be written correctly according to the template that the journal has specified in the Submission Instructions
  2. Do not copy your own or others' work, and if any text from the work of others is used in the article, the work must be properly cited, with the details of reference documents displayed at the end of the article.
  3. Results obtained from experiments, analysis, or calculations arising from research must be presented honestly, without falsification, distortion, or misrepresentation of information in the article.
  4. All authors named in the article must have been actively involved in the research and writing of the article.
  5. Disclose the funding sources supporting the research and disclose conflicts of interest (if any) with permission from the sponsoring agency.

The article reviewer has the following roles and responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate articles in own area of expertise, by considering the correctness, applicability and impact of the article, quality of data analysis and quality of work, and complete the review within a specified period of time.
  2. Maintain confidentiality and do not disclose the information of the article to any other unrelated persons during the period of evaluation of articles until they are published.
  3. Articles should be evaluated objectively and without bias, and without using personal opinions that are not in line with academic theory.
  4. If there is a possible conflict of interest between the reviewer and the author, such as being a project collaborator or knowing the author personally, or other reasons that prevent independent feedback from being given, the reviewer should decline the request for review, and notify the editor and editorial team.
  5. Provide a thorough review summary and recommendations to assist the editor and editorial team in deciding whether to publish the article in the journal.
