Abstract

This study aimed to develop an SDLC-based online teaching and learning evaluation system for the Doctor of Medicine Program, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University. The system was developed to address the limitations of the conventional spreadsheet-based grading process by providing a standardized, accurate, transparent, and more efficient evaluation process. The system development followed the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which guided the processes of analysis, design, development, and testing. A separation of concerns approach was employed, in which the user interface was developed using the Bootstrap framework to support responsive design, while the backend processing and database management were implemented using PHP to ensure systematic data handling. The system includes key functionalities such as evaluation criteria configuration, score input, grade calculation, result validation, and online reporting. The system performance was evaluated based on the DeLone and McLean information systems success model. The sample consisted of 25 instructors and staff from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire covering five evaluation dimensions and analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The results indicated that the developed system effectively reduced operational steps, improved processing speed, and minimized errors compared with the conventional grading process. Overall user satisfaction was at a high level (equation = 4.22, SD = 0.65), indicating that the developed system effectively met users' operational needs in terms of system quality, service quality, and net benefits. These findings demonstrate that the system can support standardized teaching and learning evaluation, improve the efficiency and transparency of academic assessment management, and is suitable for implementation in the Doctor of Medicine Program.
