DEVELOPMENT OF AN ONLINE GRADING AND SUBMISSION SYSTEM: A CASE STUDY OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTE CENTER 1

Abstract
This research aimed to develop a case study of an online grading and submission system for the Vocational Education Institute Center 1 and to evaluate user satisfaction with the system. System development life cycle (SDLC) theory based on system development and conceptual database design, using data flow diagram (DFD) to show the entity-relationship model (E-R model), were utilized in this study. PHP scripting language was employed to develop the system and MySQL was used for the database system. Apache was also used as a web server to display the output via the internet network using Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2. The research instruments comprised of an online grading and submission system, a qualitative assessment form, and a questionnaire to evaluate user satisfaction.
The results revealed that the quality of the online grading and submission system in the case study of the Vocational Education Institute Center 1 was at the great level (=4.60, S.D.=0.57) while user satisfaction was at the high level (
=4.19, S.D.=0.84).
