A Study of a Level of Attitude Towards Teaching Profession and Factors that Affect the Attitude Towards Teaching Profession of the Students of the Faculty of Education, Uttaradit Rajabhat University in the Educational Year of 2012
This research aimed to study a level of attitude towards teaching profession and factors that affect the attitude towards teaching profession of the students of the faculty of education, Uttaradit Rajabhat University. The population was the students of the faculty of education, Uttaradit Rajabhat University in the educational year of 2012. The sample was 1019 students enrolling in the faculty of education, Uttaradit Rajabhat University in the educational year of 2012, through a convenient sampling method. The instruments were a questionnaire and an attitude scale with the reliability of 0.91. The data were analyzed through percentage, mean, standard deviation, two – way analysis of variance, and multiple regression.The research results were: the attitude of the students towards teaching profession was at a very good level ( = 4.27), students from seven teaching majors have different attitude towards teaching profession, there was an interaction between teachings major and year of study significantly at the level of 0.05. There were five factors that affected the attitude towards teaching profession respectively as follows: trend of favoring teacher education, high school GPA, reputation of the faculty of education, Uttaradit Rajabhat University, stability of teaching profession and parents’ occupation.
