A Management Model of School - Based Curriculum Development for Small sized School

This research aimed (1) to study the problems of curriculum development in small sized schools, (2) to develop the model of the school curriculum administration, and (3) to study the effectiveness of the model in developing of School Curriculum Administration for Small sized Schools. The Research and Development (R & D) and Participatory Action Research (PAR) were applied to conduct the research which divided into 4 stages. Stage 1 : Studying the basic information. Stage 2 : Developing the model of School Curriculum Administration for Small Sized Schools. Stage 3 :Trying outs the model. And, stage 4 : Assessing and improving of the model. The research was performed in small sized schools under jurisdiction of the office of UdonThani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1-4. The research tools were semistructured interview, observation form, study notes, questionnaires and assessment form of the efficiency and effectiveness of the model. Means ( \bar{x} ), standard deviation (S.D.), and percentages were applied in the quantitative analysis. And content analysis was used for the qualitative data in order to get the inductive conclusion.

The findings were :1 The curriculum development problem of a small sized school included issues of management and administration, teachers, teaching and learning process and assessment, and, the cooperation of local communities and stakeholders. 2 The development in modeling the school curriculum administration for the small sized schools were 4 main components; (1)The roles of related personnel (2)The effectiveness of the organization networks (3) The quality control of the curriculum development(4) The effectiveness of curriculum development. Sub components, indicators and administration procedures were included in each main component. 3 The experimental trial using the model showed that the schools performed all the stages. All the related parties gave high cooperation.4The assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the model showed that the effectiveness of the model were at the high to the highest level. And the satisfaction in performing the model as a whole and all aspects were at the highest level.
