Abstract

This paper presents the prediction of a mathematical model for the simulations of turbulent flow in steady incompressible flow of confined multiple impinging jets. A finite volume method with standard  turbulence model including a reynolds stress model (RSM) is used in predicting the impinging jet flows together with a first order upwind (FOU) Scheme. 2D axisymmetric to numerical schemes on the prediction by the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program ansys fluent 2024 r1, to study the predicted results of the characteristics of axial velocity, velocity path way, vector velocity profiles and direction of rotation of the flow channel in 2 types at nozzle sizes d = 10 and 13.3 mm. are compared with hot-wire anemometer experimental data. The computations and analysis results show that at nozzle size d =10 mm, the standard  model predicts an average of 89.67%, while the RSM 87.43%, and at nozzle size d =13.3 mm, the average is 93.97%, while the RSM 91.31%. When compared with the measurement results, it shows that the standard  model performs close better accuracy than the RSM on axial velocity.
