The purpose of this research is to study the mushroom grain spawn production and find out improvement ideas to improve production efficiency using Industrial Engineering techniques. The Industrial Engineering techniques are adopted to analyze and provide the method of waste reduction. The study results reveal that after improvement by changing inside job to outside jobs based on SMED technique and rearranging, simplifying and eliminating operations based on ECRS technique, waste times from grain spawn production are reduced 8.53 sec/unit that is 15.68% from original time. This improvements can also increase production capacity 120 units/day and reduce production cost 3,600 bath/month due to outsource labor cost reduction.
