Study of the Physical Properties of Rice Boxes Made from Bamboo, Umbrella Plant and Calathea
This research was aimed to study the physical properties of Rice Boxes Made from bamboo, umbrella plant and calathea. Thermal conductivity and moisture preservation were compared among three different materials and different sizes of Rice Boxes to determine the ability of heat preservation. The specimens consisted of different cylinder sizes of 10.50 cm., 12.50 cm. and 14.50 cm. in diameter. The results of this research are as follow : 1) In addition of modulus maximum tensile strength, the bamboo had modulus of maximum tensile strength more than Calathea and Umbrella plant. 2) Thermal conductivity and moisture dissipation were compared among three different materials and different sizes of Rice Boxes. (2.1) The ability of heat preservation and moisture preservation of Rice boxes made from Calathea is higher than rice boxes made from bamboo and umbrella plant. (2.2) The ability of heat preservation and moisture preservation of Rice Boxes specimens with cylinder sizes of 14.50 cm. in diameter is higher than that of 12.50 cm. and 10.50 cm. in diameter.
