Abstract

This research aimed to develop and evaluate the quality of an online tutorial lesson on the topic of changes in air pollution control technology based on an active learning approach. The study focused on comparing students’ learning achievement before and after using the developed online lesson, examining the appropriateness of the lesson, and investigating students’ satisfaction with learning through the online tutorial. The lesson was developed using the ADDIE Model, which consists of five systematic stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instructional design followed an active learning process, including engagement, exploration and investigation, discussion and conclusion, creation of products of understanding, and reflection through a learning community. The online lesson is presented in various formats, including text, images, animations, and narrated audio to enhance students’ learning experience. The sample group consisted of 25 Grade 8 students selected through cluster random sampling from one classroom. he research instruments included the online tutorial lesson, a lesson quality evaluation form, a learning achievement test, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research findings revealed that the quality of the developed online lesson was rated at the highest level (equation = 4.69), and the lesson’s efficiency was 81.60/83.60, which was higher than the predetermined criterion of 80/80. The post-learning ac ievement scores of the students (equation = 8.36) were significantly higher than the pre-learning scores (equation = 4.84) at the 0.05 level of significance. In addition, students’ satisfaction with the online lesson was found to be at the highest level (equation = 4.94).
