THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR EXPLORATION OF THE WORLD OF WORK IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AT BAN NOI CHOM SI SCHOOL, SAKON NAKHON PROVINCE

Abstract

World of work closely relates to ever changing of human beings. The success of entering into world of work means an individual survival. Ideally, Individual at any age should have good preparation for vocations. Especially, an elementary school students should be provided appropriate climate and activity encouraging the positive attitude toward world of work, for a better world in the future. This study aims at development of learning activities for exploration of world of work at the elementary school. Forty students of grade four to grade six classes, at Ban Noi Chom Si school in the academic year. BC. 2557. The Career Exploration Process by Cornell University and The Trait and Factor Theory are foundations of this development. Mainly,  the learning activities aim to achieve three components,

         1. self knowledge

         2. knowledge about occupations and values of work

         3. awareness of world of work: employing writing journals, discussing, sharing views among occupation informants, students, teachers.
         Findings were these students

          1) enjoyed conversions’ about their working ability and interests during the
self-knowledge session with teachers

          2) attentively listened and questioned during the occupational knowledge

          3) students’ awareness were illustrated in their journals, discussing activities.
