Work Management and Accountability Factors Affecting Hiring Outsourcing Service for Machinery Maintenance in Digital Age

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the management factors of machinery maintenance service of outsourcing service and 2) to study the accountability factors affecting hiring outsourcing service. The study was a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative approaches. The participants in the quantitative study were: Group 1) were the managers working in the maintenance departments in the eastern provinces. The tool was a questionnaire about management factors. Groups 2) were the executives who had authority for outsourcing. The tool was a questionnaire about accountability factors. The data collected by the questionnaires were analyzed by statistics frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-Test and One-Way ANOVA. Group 3 in the qualitative study were a group of experts in focus group discussion for approving the management factors and accountability factors affecting hiring outsourcing service. The results revealed that the participants of Group 1 stated that the management factors of machinery maintenance of outsourcing service were very important and could be arranged by the level of importance as follows: 1) Planning, 2) Leading, 3) Organizing, 4) follow-up, and Evaluating and 5) Coordinating. Group 2 participants stated that the accountability factors were very important and could be arranged by the level of importance as: 1) The quality of the work maintenance, 2) The process done as signed in TOR, 3) Work moral and ethics, 4) Teamwork, and 5) Technology used in maintenance. However: after rearranged by ranking the most importance to the least importance, the results showed that the technology used in maintenance was ranked more important than the teamwork. The management factors and the accountability factors were approved by the experts in the focus group discussion for with consensus agreement with the ranking of the importance of accountability factors for their appropriately applied as the factors for decision making on hiring the outsourcing services in any circumstances.
