Program to Notify and Display Results of Medical Instruments Verification: A Case Study at Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Vajira Hospital
Main Article Content
Abstract
Medical device management is a complex task and this problem can be reduced by notification and monitoring systems. Medical instruments notification and verification display program was a research and development aimed to: 1) create a notification system for the verification of medical instruments within the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Vajira Hospital through "Line Notification" 2) study the accuracy of time and alert messages for the verification using Line Notification 3) evaluate the effectiveness of the program. The study found that the program which was developed by using Wordpress and NotePadd++ with PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript languages was able to successfully notify the verification of medical instruments. When examining accuracy of the program and the notification on Line application, it was found that the time taken to generate an alert message was 100 percent accurate. The effectiveness of program was assessed by 20 users. The overall results found that the participants absolutely agree that the program was effective with the average score of 2.76/3.00. When analyzed by items, it was found that 1) the program was able to notify at the specified time, 2) replace the previous notification system and 3) provide complete and useful information and display accurate results. There average were 3.00, 2.85, 2.85, and 2.35 respectively. Additionally, the medical instruments notification and verification display program is applicable. However, this program should be developed to cover all of the medical instruments in the hospital. This can be achieved by using Python code to delay notifications and record the accuracy and length of messages. This will also allow the program to track the results of medical device verification.
