The Development of Potential Model of Middle Management in Production Unit for Petrochemical Industry in Digital Economy

Abstract


The Purposes of this research were: 1) to study the potential components of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy, 2) to develop the potential model of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy, and 3) to develop a potential development manual of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy. This study integrated the method of qualitative and quantitative approaches. In-depth interview and focus group discussion were used as qualitative tools, while questionnaires were used as quantitative ones. The participants were of production unit of petrochemical industry management, human resource development management, and related production unit management. The qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis, and the quantitative data analysis was done using statistic, frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation, and factor analysis computed using standardized statistic software. The research found that there were 9 essential components of the potential development of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy. The 9 potential of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy are composed of 1) leadership, 2) human resource management, 3) accounting and financial management, 4) planning, 5) reporting, 6) working process development in digital era, 7) organization management, 8) working skills, and 9) business management knowledge. Based on the research findings, the components obtained were used to create the potential development manual of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy. The manual of potentials development of middle management in production unit for petrochemical industry in digital economy was evaluated by experts as being suitable and able to be applied.
