Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify the suitable upland rice variety for planting in wet rice cultivation of Phitsanulok province in nineteen upland rice varieties consist of Kum, Jaw Kao, Jaw Dang, Jaw Ngor, Jaw Dum, Jaw Hor, Siw Mae Jun, Dang, Bun Kerd, Lai, Nuad Pla Dug, Hom Ngor, Hom Ma Li Rai, Hom Ma Li Dang, Hom Look Rung, Hnang Pla Lai, Neaw Dang, Neaw Dum and Neaw Luem Pua. The upland rice varieties were planted in field (50 m2) for every variety. A randomize complete block design (RCB) was used with five replications. The results showed that upland rice variety had characteristics in term of stem height, grain per spike, fresh weight per 100 seed and yield per 50 m2 were significant (p<0.01). Dang, Neaw Dum and Hom Look Rung has the potential to be cultivated in the lowland area because gave a high yield.
