Risk Assessment of Fire Protection System in Religious Place: Bang Plee Yainai Temple, Samutprakarn Province

Abstract

This research aim to risk assessment of fire protection systems of BangPhli Yai Nai temple. Using the fire protection system assessment by check list form, referring to the Ministerial Regulation No.47 (BE2540) issued under the Building Control Act 2522 and the risk assessment criteria of the Department of Industrial Works.

          The results were 2 levels of risk; high risk level and acceptable level. The high level were most related to incorrect installation fire extinguishers; installed in the corner, installed one cluster area not all around. There are barrier material blocking and no installed sign board of the fire extinguisher’s location. And the acceptable level most of them involve a fire extinguisher obstruction. There were not installed fire extinguishers in the Pavilion, not installed emergency lighting, warning signal and lighting protection system in the Phra Meru and Phra Ubosot.

          Therefore, the results could be using to design a fire protection system. It should be considering for appropriate location for the fire protection system and a value of art and culture in Buddhist social
