A Development of Car Parking Management System

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) develop a car parking management system. 2) Evaluate system performance of car parking management system. The researcher studied the problem conditions and requirements, analyze and design the system to meet the user requirements of the system, and apply the design and development principles according to the system development life cycle (SDLC) process. The system was developed with Microsoft Visual Basic programming language and using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 database. Statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and data analysis using content analysis method by presenting with descriptive data. The results of the research showed that the problem condition of the original system was that customer data, vehicle data, and parking information were noted by hands in a notebook and stored randomly which was hard and took a long time to search. The requirements of the new system were summarized as follows: Developed a system with an organized and easy to find document storage, Able to manage car parking information and generate reports correctly. The system divided relevant users into 2 groups: the system administrator (restaurant owner) and staff. The system could manage customer information, manage employee information, manage car parking and returning information, and display various reports. The performance evaluation of the system from experts was that the overall performance was at a high level (mean of 4.45, standard deviation of 0.56)
