Abstract

In the situation of the epidemic of coronavirus disease, workers are at risk of coronavirus infection throughout their work if they are in contact or close to an infected person. Workplaces are essential to establish preventive measures to protect the health of workers. The safety officer in professional level plays an important role in protecting the health of workers. This article is aimed to suggest the role of safety officer in professional level in the situation of the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019. Safety officer in professional level should present preventive measures and programs to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection with the knowledge of occupational health and safety including engineering controls, administrative control and use of personal protective equipment for employers to implement, which will be especially beneficial to both employers and workers. If safety officer in professional level can successfully drive preventive measures and programs to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection. Workers will be able to work safely while taking care of and protecting their own health away from coronavirus disease.
