Abstract

This research aims to study the feasibility of carbon nanospheres growth using candle flame synthesis. Carbon fiber which was coated with Ni catalyst of 1 to 5 micrometer thick can be used as a support material. Carbon nanospheres can be grown on the support at 600°C for 30 to 180 sec. The amount of carbon nanospheres increased when increased combustion times. The diameter of carbon nanospheres using candle flame synthesis was 50 nm at 180 sec.
