About the Journal
Aims and Scope
Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and review articles in various fields of engineering. The journal not only presents highly original ideas and advanced technologies, but also practical applications of appropriate technology. EASR aims to provide the most complete and reliable source of information on current developments in the field. Its focus is on rapidly publishing quality manuscripts that are freely available to researchers, scientists, and academics worldwide.
Topics of interest to EASR include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Civil Engineering and Construction Technology
- Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication
- Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology
- Industrial Engineering, Logistics, and Supply Chain
- Energy Technology, Thermal Systems, and Applied Mechanics
- Environmental Engineering and Management
- Chemical Engineering
- Computer and Information Technology
All manuscripts submitted to EASR undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two expert reviewers to ensure that the articles align with the aims and scope of the journal, while maintaining high scientific quality and transparency. The peer review system consists of both internal and external reviewers.
EASR supports potential authors in publishing results of research, applications, ideas, and innovations related to engineering, as well as in the development of classical and new theories, methodologies, and techniques in the field. The journal also promotes collaboration and encourages the exchange of ideas among researchers worldwide.
Types of Published Articles
EASR publishes original research and review articles.
1. Research articles report original research findings in engineering and related fields. A research article must include a clear research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. The article should also present research findings, provide explicit discussion, and demonstrate contributions to the field.
2. Review articles offer comprehensive reviews of the existing literature on a specific topic related to engineering. Review articles should critically analyze and synthesize an overview of the literature, including, but not limited to, identifying knowledge gaps, highlighting areas of deficiency, and proposing potential avenues for future research.
Publication Frequency
EASR publishes a journal on a bi-monthly basis (6 issues per year): January–February, March–April, May–June, July–August, September–October, and November–December. EASR maintains a timely and consistent publication schedule, offering high-quality articles related to engineering.
Language
All EASR articles are published in English with proper grammar and correct spelling. Authors are encouraged to have their manuscripts checked by a native English speaker before submission.
Publication Charges
There are no charges for submitting or publishing any type of article in the EASR journal. All articles published in the journal are open access and freely available to readers via the journal website. However, authors will be informed well in advance if the article processing charge (APC) policy changes, subject to the policy of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University.
Open Access Policy
Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) began its online publication through the Thai Journal Online (ThaiJO) database in 2004. The journal is committed to advancing open access principles in scientific research, ensuring that research is accessible to a global audience.

Journal History
The journal was first published in 1974 under the name “KKU Engineering Journal,” and it accepted both English and Thai manuscripts. Originally, the journal focused on publishing research conducted and applied in northeastern Thailand. It is considered a national journal and has been indexed in the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) database since 2004. In 2015, the journal transitioned to accepting only English manuscripts and became open access to attract more international readers. It was renamed Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) in 2017 to reflect its increased international scope. The editorial team decided to publish more international papers, making the new journal title more appropriate. In 2018, EASR was accepted for inclusion in the Scopus database. All aspects of the journal have been improved through help, suggestions, and supervision from the TCI-TRF-SCOPUS collaboration project. The journal focuses on engineering research that not only presents highly original ideas and advanced technology but also includes practical applications of appropriate technology.
