Abstract

The paper presents an artificial neural network (ANN) approach based on supervised neural networkfor forecasting of Thai rice exporting. The performance of the ANN approach has been compared to sometraditional forecasting method such as time series and regression techniques. The forecast is obtained byusing a feed-forward neural network, trained with back propagation learning. The results indicated that theANN forecasting outperforms those traditional techniques such as naive, multiple regressions, movingaverage, exponential smoothing and trend-adjusted exponential smoothing
