Developing Sustainable Coexistence with Nature and Science and Self-Esteem through Area Based Integrated Learning Unit Based on STEAM Education for Grade 3 Students

This objectives of this study were to: 1) develop competencies on sustainable coexistence with nature and science among grade 3 students through area-based integrated learning units based on STEAM education concepts and 2) develop self-esteem among grade 3 students through area-based integrated learning units based on STEAM education concepts. The samples consisted of 20- grade 3 students at Chumchon Wat Tha Duea School in the second semester of the academic year 2567 BE. The data collection instruments were an assessment form for competencies in Sustainable coexistence with nature and technology and a self-esteem assessment form analyzed by means, percentage, standard deviation, and relative gain score.
The results of the study revealed that: 1) The competency development of the students on sustainable coexistence with nature and science after learning with area-based integrated learning units based on STEAM education concepts was higher than that before with a relative gain score of 65.87, indicating a high level of development. 2) The development of self-esteem of grade 3 students after learning through area-based integrated learning units based on STEAM education concepts was higher than that before with a relative gain score of 66.23, indicating a high level of development.
