Developing an Online Training Course on Methods for Saving Electricity and Calculation of Electricity Costs for Electricity Consumers in Chonburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) develop an online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculation of electricity costs for electricity consumers in Chonburi Province, 2) compare knowledge of the trainees before and after training, and 3) study the satisfaction of trainees towards the online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculation of electricity costs for electricity consumers in Chonburi Province. The sample group included 385 residential electricity consumers using normal electricity rates in the area of Chonburi Province derived by purposive sampling technique through the calculation from Krejcie and Morgan Table. The research tools consisted of: 1) an online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculation of electricity costs for electricity consumers in Chonburi Province, 2) a test to measure learning achievement on methods for saving electricity, and 3) the trainees’ satisfaction assessment form for the online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculation of electricity costs for electricity consumers in Chonburi Province. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, content analysis, and t-test dependent.

The research results showed that: 1) the online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculation of electricity costs for electricity consumers in Chonburi Province reached an efficiency of 85.24/89.70 meeting the specified criteria.  2) The trainees achieved higher post-test scores after the training at the statistically significant level of .05. 3) The trainees reported their satisfaction towards the online training course on methods for saving electricity and calculating electricity bills for electricity users in Chonburi Province in overall at the highest level.
