Strategies for Improving Assistant Teachers’ Competency to Develop the Learning Management Quality at Phuket Technical College

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the management ecosystem of assistant teachers’ competency to develop the learning management quality at Phuket Technical College, 2) determine the management strategy for assistant teachers’ competency to develop the learning management quality at Phuket Technical College. The research procedure started by conducting in-depth interview with 15 experts derived by purposive sampling technique. Then the interview results were analyzed by content analysis to define the management strategies for assistant teachers’ competency to develop the learning management quality at Phuket Technical College. The proposed management strategies were then validated by another group of 9 experts derived by purposive sampling technique. The data were calculated to find mean and SD.

The results revealed that the management ecosystem consisted of 4 strategies, i.e., 1) encouraging inspiration and commitment, 2) cultivating professional knowledge, 3) cultivating a public mind, and 4) focusing on work achievement. The experts all agreed with the proposed management strategies and suggested that the system should be equipped with digital intelligence and modern social innovation technology. This can be done by the cooperation of vocational institutes and enterprises in creating management ecosystem of enhancing the capacity of assistant teachers to develop the quality of learning management of Phuket Technical College.
