Buddhist Way of Educational Administration in the VUCA World Era

Abstract

“Uncertainty is certainty” is the eternal truth of Buddha words because nothing lasts forever. It always changes according to various causes and factors. At present, the world and the surrounding context have changed rapidly and continuously including lifestyle, economy, society, and environment. The drastic changes are called "VUCA World" of which their factors inevitably affect corporate executives and people in this generation. However, no matter how fast the world changes, the Buddha's Dharma is still the principle and philosophy of lives for human beings.

This academic article has got the Buddha's Dharma strung together to fit the disruptive world in order to apply it in the administration of education. This includes the human capital development system based on the Trisikkha Principles leading to the Dharma way. This creates a high quality education administration by using the Dharma principles in self-reliance, subordinate focus, and job competence. The education administration that copes with changes employs the 4 strengths of Panyabala, Viriyabhala, Anavajjabala, and Sanghahabala. The application of Buddhism in the administration will affect the quality of education in various dimensions. However, the results and effects of the practice of the Dharma which the Blessed One has already proclaimed is something that executives must implement by themselves to be able to clearly see the results because the Dharma is a practice that the attained ones will see for themselves. In addition, the Dharma is akaliko or timeless and unconditioned by time.
