Learning Styles of Technical Education Students (Four-year Program), Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) study the learning styles of Technical Education students (four-year program), Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi and 2) compare the learning styles of Technical Education students  based on their majors and college years. The sample accounted 221 students in the academic year of 2022 in Technical Education (four-year program), Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi derived by Krejcie & Morgan sample size estimation. The research tools were open-ended and close-ended questionnaires. The research statistics included average, standard deviation, and One-way ANOVA. If the statistical difference was detected, the differentiation pair test would be performed by Scheffe Method.

The results showed that: 1) the level of learning styles of students of Technical Education (four-year program), Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi was totally high. When considering on each aspect, it was found that the learning styles with high-level included dependence, collaboration, competition, and independent learning styles. The learning style with the moderate level was avoidance. 2) The results of the students learning style comparison showed no statistically significant difference among the students with different college years. However, when classified by various majors, it was found that students in Mechanical Engineering Department  had the avoidant learning style different from those of the students in the Computer Engineering Department. Overall, other variables showed no statistical difference.
