Management of Vocational Education according to KOSEN Standards at Science Based Technology Vocational College (Chonburi)

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study documents of principles, theories, analysis of the situation, problem conditions, and guidelines of vocational education management, 2) develop vocational education management based on KOSEN Standard, 3) implement the vocational education based on KOSEN Standard in real situation, and 4) evaluate the results of vocational education management based on KOSEN Standard. The population in this study consisted of Japanese experts, teachers, university professors, students and network partners. The research tools used for collecting data included document analysis, brainstorming, structure interviews, and questionnaires. The research was conducted in the academic year 2019-2020 at Science-Based Technology Vocational College (Chonburi). The statistics used in the research consisted of percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results showed that the implementation of the management based on KOSEN Standard included 3 components, i.e. 1) principle, 2) objectives, and 3) management consisting of 3 factors: 3.1) input factor for management based on KOSEN Standard, 3.2) vocational education management processes based on KOSEN Standard, and 3.3) output or productivity based on KOSEN Standard. The results of the vocational education management based on KOSEN Standard resulted in higher performance of the students. Moreover, the stakeholders are also satisfied accordingly.
