Current Situation, Desirable Situation and Guidelines to Develop Administration of Infant and Child Development Center under the Local Government Organization, Nakhon Phanom Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study current situations and desirable situations of the administration, 2) conduct need assessment, and 3) develop guidelines for Infant and Child Development Center under the Local Government Organization, Nakhon Phanom Province. The research was conducted in 2 phases, i.e., quantitative phase and qualitative phase. For the first phase, the sample group included 252 school administrators and teachers based on Krejcie & Morgan’s table.  There were 3 informants for the structure interview and 5 experts for validating the appropriateness of the developed guidelines. There were 4 instruments used in this research comprising: 1) a questionnaire on the current situation for Child Development Center management, 2) a questionnaire on desirable situation for developing Child Development Center management, 3) a structured-interview, and 4) a suitable and possible evaluation form on guidelines for developing Child Development Center management. The statistics included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the index modified priority needs index (PNI_Modified).

The results were as follows: (1) the current situation of the Child Development Center management was at moderate level and the desirable situation for managing the Child Development Center was at high level. (2) The highest mean of top-three need assessment for managing the Child Development Center were the encouragement of family and community participatory, systematic administration, and personal management respectively. (3) The guidelines for developing Child Development Center revealed that its suitability was at the highest level and the possibility was at high level in overall.
