Implementation of DME in a Small Direct Injection Diesel Engine
Keywords:
Direct injection diesel engine, DME, Engine performanceAbstract
A small direct injection (DI) diesel engine for dimethyl ether (DME) has been developed and evaluated, first time in Thailand, by the author. The paper reports DME properties and engine conversion requirements. In addition, the investigating results of using DME as an alternative fuel candidate for diesel engine by measuring primary engine performance and black smoke characteristics were discussed. The engine measurements with this fuel were compared with those obtained by using conventional diesel fuel.Downloads
