Development of Electronic Document Management System for Faculty of Science and Technology, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aims 1) to develop an electronic document management system for the Faculty of Science and Technology, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and 2) to evaluate user satisfaction of the system. This electronic document system was developed according to a 5-step development cycle, using PHP as the programming language. The sample group was specifically selected from all system users, consisting of 19 people who receiving and sending documents, and 7 people who involving with the endorsement of documents. The research findings revealed that the electronic document management system facilitates the receiving and sending documents, as well as document searching. It also enables administrators to endorse official documents at anytime and anywhere. Additionally, it significantly reduces the usage of paper and ink. The users who receiving and sending documents, expressed the highest level of satisfaction with the system ( = 4.82). Considering each aspects, these users showed the most satisfaction level with all aspects, including design, document receiving, document sending, document searching, and the user manual. Similarly, the users who involving with the endorsement of documents also have the highest level of satisfaction with the system ( = 4.77).
