THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACHIVEMENTS OF STUDENTS IN EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY COURSE ON LEARNING TOPIC WITH ACTIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUE

Abstract

This classroom research aimed to study the active learning with the flipped-classroom teaching method and playing the quiz game in an educational psychology course on learning topic, and to compare the learning achievements of students in educational psychology course on learning topic in pre-test and post-test with active learning technique. The population was 79 students who have been studying in the 2nd year students in Agricultural Education Curriculum, the faculty of industrial education, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, the semester 1/2016. The samples were 74 students who were selected by specifying sampling through the criteria that they participated in all three times as pre-test, post-test and quiz game.


The result found that the active learning technique by using the flipped-classroom teaching method, the students could learn from E-Book and got the knowledge to play the quiz game in classroom. It changed from the traditional learning style that the instructors taught in the classroom and then the students did their homework at home. The new method of learning was getting the knowledge at home or anywhere and exchanged it with friends for playing the quiz game in the class. This way could help to encourage the student learning; they were interested and focused in the contents by themselves because they would like to participate in the quiz game properly.


The result of comparison about the student achievements found that the post-test score was higher than the pre-test score at the statistical significance level of .05 and the gain score of students is higher on a middle level at an average of 30.91 percent.
