Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the efficiency of the STC-4 solar electric vehicle rooftop electric power generation system for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023 Cruiser Class competition by measuring four parameters: light intensity, temperature, voltage, and current. These measurements are taken to determine the electrical power and energy produced. The installation of solar panels on the roof of a car utilizes monocrystalline solar panels, which are flexible and lightweight. These panels cover an area of 3.3 square meters and have a power output 650 watts at an electrical voltage of 79.8 volts. The results of the test of electrical energy production of solar panels while participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023 from the starting point in Darwin to Mataranka, a distance of 422 kilometers, were able to produce 3.92807 kWh of electrical energy with a capacity of Produces maximum electricity of 558 W at approximately 1:30 p.m. and a light intensity value of 1,430 W/m2, equivalent to a solar panel efficiency of 12.46 %
