ผลของสารสกัดเปลือกมังคุดต่อการเสริมความแข็งแรงของเมล็ดพันธุ์มะเขือเทศคุณภาพต่ำ

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของการเสริมความแข็งแรงให้กับเมล็ดพันธุ์มะเขือเทศ (Solanum lycopersicum L. พันธุ์ ARQ 2023) คุณภาพต่ำ ด้วยสารสกัดจากเปลือกมังคุด (Garcinia mangostana L.) ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งของสารต้านอนุมูลอิสระธรรมชาติในกลุ่มแซนโทนส์ (xanthones) ได้แก่ α-mangostin และ γ-mangostin การทดลองใช้เทคนิคการเตรียมการงอกแบบ osmopriming โดยแช่เมล็ดพันธุ์ที่มีความงอกเริ่มต้น 60% ในสารสกัดเปลือกมังคุดที่ความเข้มข้น 1, 2 และ 3% ในน้ำ 100 มิลลิลิตร เป็นเวลา 48 ชั่วโมง ที่อุณหภูมิ 25 องศาเซลเซียส ทดสอบคุณภาพเมล็ดพันธุ์ในสภาพห้องปฏิบัติการและเรือนทดลองพบว่า เมล็ดที่ผ่านการเตรียมการงอกด้วยสารสกัดเปลือกมังคุดทุกระดับความเข้มข้นมีเปอร์เซ็นต์การงอกและดัชนีการงอกสูงกว่าชุดควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ โดยสารสกัดที่ความเข้มข้น 3% ให้ค่าความงอกสูงสุด (88.33%) และดัชนีการงอกสูงสุด (15.04 ต้น/วัน) ในขณะที่การใช้สารสกัดที่ 2% ส่งผลให้ความยาวรากเฉลี่ยสูงสุด (5.14 เซนติเมตร) และความยาวต้นกล้าในเรือนทดลองสูงสุด (8.32 เซนติเมตร) เปลือกมังคุดมีรายงานว่าประกอบด้วยสารพฤกษเคมีหลายชนิดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการต้านอนุมูลอิสระ ซึ่งอาจสัมพันธ์กับการลดความเสียหายของเซลล์จากอนุมูลอิสระ ทั้งนี้จำเป็นต้องมีการทดสอบฤทธิ์ต้านอนุมูลอิสระเพิ่มเติมเพื่อยืนยันสมมติฐานดังกล่าว ซึ่งการใช้สารสกัดเปลือกมังคุดในความเข้มข้น 2–3% จึงเป็นแนวทางที่มีศักยภาพในการเสริมความแข็งแรงและยกระดับคุณภาพของเมล็ดพันธุ์มะเขือเทศคุณภาพต่ำได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
