This paper presents design and prototype of a compact tri-band monopole antenna with notching technique on rectangular patch for controllable the tri-band frequency resonant, while reduced size of ground plane. This antenna are designed and fabricated on the printed circuit board (PCB) FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant (εr)=4.3 and 1.6 mm of the thickness (h), and the size is 20x30 mm2. The proposed antenna is design has three separate resonant frequencies: 2.45 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 5.5 GHz, so the bandwidth for are 2.36-2.62 GHz, 3.29-4.15 GHz, and 4.92-6.22 GHz, respectively. Accordingly, this antenna operates the WLAN/WiMAX frequency band.
