A Multi-Layer Cryptographic Framework for Resource-Constrained IoMT Devices Using Constructive Research Technique

Abstract
Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices frequently lack sufficient computational power, memory and energy resources. IoMT systems often require real-time data processing and transmission, as well as a comprehensive key management infrastructure to guarantee the security and integrity of encryption keys. Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices can benefit from hardware-based security features such as secure enclaves, trusted execution environments and hardware-backed key storage to improve the overall security of cryptographic applications. Choosing methods that can take advantage of these hardware-based security characteristics while reducing computational power and memory consumption in real-time data processing can improve IoMT performance and security. This study suggested a multi-layer cryptography system for resource-constrained IoMT devices. This projected security framework encrypts and hashes IoMT data at the physical layer using AES 256, Trivium, and HMAC SHA256. The AES-256 is used to encrypt critical data that requires higher levels of security, such as IoMT data. The TRIVIUM approach, is used for real-time data encryption when low latency and efficiency are crucial, but the HMAC SHA256 is utilized to guarantee data integrity and authenticity. This work uses the constructive research technique, which is appropriate for investigating elements of digital preservation. The constructive research technique allows academics to create a model that was utilized to solve the challenge of data security in IoMT. The system was created using the Python programming language.
