Abstract

This research presents the feasibility study and detailed design of solid waste management system which apply to Makok-Nue District Administrative Organization (Ampheo Kuankanum, Pattalung) as a case study. The result shows that the suitable pattern is the integrated system which sorting system, reuse-recycle, composting system, and sanitary Iandfill. The project is involved with Municipal and District Administrative Organization by 2 and 5 areas resoectively. The area 80 rai was set for solid waste management center. It can admit the amount of solid waste from these areas approximately 35.7 ton/day (2003) and in the future increase to 52.3 ton/day (2003). In addition, the criteria has design sorting efficiency about 40% of collected solid waste which physical components are paper (43%), plastic (28%), glass bottles (25%) and metal (5%), While the residue 60% are organic solid waste (50% is composted to produce fertilizer), also other solid waste 10% will be disposed in sanitary landfill. Finally, the optimum operation cost is 27.26 baht/house/month.
