Vibration analysis of Actuator Arm in HDD using FEM and identification using LDV
Main Article Content
Abstract
A hard disk drive (HDD) is a storage component, which is commonly used in computer, electronic device etc. It has been continuously developed by means of either capacity or size toachieve the customer's requirements. This paper is to study and to analyze the vibrations of theactuator arm in HDD using FEM (Finite Element Method) software and LDV (Laser DopplerVibrometer) to find out the natural frequencies. The results of the natural frequencies from both FEMand LDV show a good agreement and this information can also be used to further study the vibrationsof Head Stack Assembly (HSA) and to develop the finite element model of the actuator arm
