Abstract

This paper presents the study of wrist strap engagement detection using the 50 Hz artifactfrom operators’ skins as the indicator for wrist strap engagement. This artifact is caused by the powerline nearby. The measured signals were selected according to operators’ activities which includeengagement, disengagement, and disconnecting. Different kinds of DSP algorithms were used toanalyze the spectrogram of selected signals. It is found that STFT spectrogram yield excellent results.
